Vietnam Wet Hulled Grade 1
Rain Forest Alliance
This is a wet hulled, grade 1, Rainforest Alliance certified coffee from Lam Dong, Vietnam.
60% of Vietnam Arabica crop is in Lam Dong Province. Lam Dong's altitudes range from 900- 1400 masl, and this area experiences rains from April to July, with fertile basaltic soil. Varietals grown here are 95% Catimor and 5% Bourbon/Typica. Harvesting is from September to February.
The processing of this coffee starts with the farmer delivering high grown coffee cherries to where it gets pulped using Penagos DCV Pulpers and a Dry-fermentation is done in concrete tanks for up-to 14 hours. The following morning, post washing, parchment is pre-dried on Vibrating dryers, using air at temperature <= 45 degrees C. After mechanical drying, parchment is fed to Wet hullers. After Wet Hulling, the wet bean is transferred to Green Houses to be dried on raised beds for up to 7 days. Each Green House is monitored for humidity levels and coffee is raked consistently as it drops from 40% to 12% moisture by weight.

Winter 2020/21 Roast
Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Organic G1 Gedeb Beriti
This organic coffee comes from Ethiopia's Yirgacheffe region, in a village called Beriti. The nearest town is Gedeb town. This coffee was grown at high altitudes ranging from 2200-2300 meters (approx 7500 feet) above sea level, in one of the world's best (and original) coffee producing environments, with red brown, well drained fertile clay soil. Temperatures in the area range from 22 - 26 degrees Centigrade (70-80F). The variety is Heirloom Yirgacheffe and may seem smaller than most beans you've seen due to their growth altitude and organic nature. The beans are washed and then hand selected to Grade 1 quality prior to shipping.
Fall 2020 Roast
Zambia AAA
The Mafinga Hills in Zambia’s Northern Province are home to the country’s highest peaks. As the slopes descend into foothills you'll find the Olam owned estates of Kateshi, Ngoli, and Luombe, which together produce RFA coffees. Coffees from all three estates are milled at the Kateshi mill and blended to create this unique coffee from the home of smoke that thunders. Long before Dr. Livingston arrived to name Victoria Falls after the queen, the people who had lived around this wonder of the natural world for generations had already named it more appropriately, “the smoke that thunders.” The falls thunder into the Zambesi River, which flows east toward Mozambique. But before the river crosses the border, take a left and head north up the Luangwa River. You’ll move through land rich in biodiversity, including the world’s largest concentration of hippos. As the river meanders and the altitude rises you will eventually arrive at the source of the Luangwa, 1500 meters up the Mafinga plateau, which is also, as it happens, the source of the source of this estate coffee.
